As from the 1991/1992 season, the organization of futsal in Belgium officially joined the ranks of the R.B.F.A.
Almost 1,100 futsal clubs are members of the R.B.F.A. and play their own league and cup matches, tournaments and international matches.
The futsal A-team will participate in the qualifying round for the World Championship in Brasil, in 2008. In the European zone, Belgium has been linked to Romania, Montenegro and Belarus, with the group winners to progress to play-off matches against other group winners. The winners of these 5 play-off matches (home and away) can book their ticket to Brasil.
